Hypnobirthing Yorkshire S - Teachers' Directory
Hi, I’m Anne and I love being able to help mums-to-be like you who are looking to have a calmer, more comfortable labour and birth, to let go of any fears and anxieties you may have so that you can enjoy your pregnancy, feel more in control and look forward to having as natural a birth as possible.
I’m a mum to 4 grown up children and I also have 2 wonderful little grandchildren who I adore. It’s many years since I gave birth to my children and it was before hypnobirthing was around, but what I do remember is that the easiest of the births were by far the ones I felt most relaxed about.
While my children were growing up I worked for many years in the health and fitness industry, helping people to feel fitter and healthier etc but as the years went by I found myself becoming more and more interested in the psychological side of things. So ten years ago I trained as a clinical hypnotherapist and set up a practice seeing clients for all sorts of issues. After a while though, I found that I was attracting more and more clients with anxiety, fears and stress… people worrying and feeling overwhelmed about situations in their life that they needed help with so I decided to specialise in this area.
I’m so glad I did as, as well as being a KGhypnobirthing teacher and being able to equip you and your partner with everything you need to have a calm and comfortable birth, it means that by using simple, effective techniques I’m also able to help you let go of any other stuff that might be going on for you and getting in the way of you being able to feel relaxed about your upcoming labour and birth.
Maybe you’re feeling terrified at the thought of giving birth and worried about how you’ll cope and get through it. You might be scared of tearing or you’re worrying that you might not get the birth you want. Maybe you or your birth companion have a real phobia of needles, blood, hospitals or something else and you’re wondering how you’re going to cope. I would love the opportunity to help you on your journey towards being able to truly let go of any fears you might have so that you can actually look forward to having a calm and comfortable birth experience and give your baby the best possible start in life. Love Anne x
Lover of cake, a good cup of tea and the sea. My happy place. Oh and the big one, I am also a trained KGH hypnobirther and therapist.
My work as a therapist has allowed me to spend lots of time with people working through their feelings of anxiety and low self esteem. It is through this that I fell in love with talking to expectant parents and challenging them to expect more from their birth experience.
I believe that every woman should be able to find a useful, authentic message about the options they have to birth their baby. Just as every person is different, every birth is your personal experience and one that should be embraced without fear. My work is about giving women the information they need to understand their wonderful bodies and plan for their birth experience.
What I am promising you is the opportunity to learn everything you need to know to make the right choices for you. To learn practical techniques to use during your labour and have the delivery you want. The best delivery for you and your baby. To let go of the fear and embrace your birth for the amazing experience it is.
So have a read, check out a class or drop me a message to chat about getting started.
I am currently studying Midwifery at University and I am very passionate about birth and Hypnobirthing. I was previously a volunteer Doula for a few years. I have helped women birth their babies in so many ways and each is as special as the last, and I am very enthusiastic when working with women and their partners that their labour and birth experience is controlled and empowering.
I would love to help you feel so empowered and in control of your body, your baby and your birth!
I am a dedicated and passionate midwife who has been practising since 2008. I have worked in all areas of midwifery including community and in birth centres. My main goal when working as a midwife is to keep a woman’s birthing experience as ‘positivel’ as possible, even when their experiences are ‘not going to plan’. This is through different methods such as encouraging upright positions, advising massage and a homely atmosphere. During the time that I have worked as a midwife, I have cared for many couples who have used hypnobirthing as a tool to give them the best labour and birth experience possible. I was very inspired by these experiences, as I frequently cared for women that seemed so calm, their labours often progressed quickly and the women often used less pain relief than those not hypnobirthing. Along with this, the birth partners also appeared well informed and very supportive. These experiences inspired me to becoming a KG Hypnobirthing Practitioner, as I also wanted to be able to share these amazing, powerful techniques. I work part time as midwife now and part time as a Hypnobirthing Practitioner to give couples the flexibility and best availability for their classes. During my spare time, I go hiking, practice yoga and I am involved in a local midwifery group who are campaigning for a much-needed free standing birth centre in South Yorkshire. I love to travel and I have been lucky enough to spend time in different countries such as Madagascar, where I have gained many different experiences and have had my practice influenced.
After qualifying as a midwife at King's College London, I went straight to work for a caseload team in South London. This brilliant job - based at St Thomas' hospital - gave me the opportunity to work with women from their booking appointment, through the birth, to the early days of parenthood. I have now assisted at well over 100 births, at home and in hospital settings. It is always a privilege to support mothers at the time of birth, and I have seen, time and time again, the great strength and love that women bring to their own unique birth.
I was convinced of the benefits of hypnobirthing long before becoming a midwife. My sister, after a challenging first birth, used hypnobirthing to prepare for her second. The result was a overwhelmingly positive natural birth experience for my sister, which, in turn, transformed my understanding of what birth could be like. I have now witnessed many times the positive effects of hypnobirthing, and strongly believe in its benefits, however a birth unfolds.
Having studied languages to degree level at the University of Cambridge, I speak French and German fluently, and would encourage any mothers to get in touch if they would like classes, or more general support, in these languages.
I recently moved up to Sheffield, where I continue to work as an NHS midwife and qualified KG Hypnobirthing teacher. I practice meditation myself, and have experienced first-hand its benefits for my physical and mental health. On my days off, I head out to the Peak in pursuit of beautiful landscapes and rocks - my other great loves, and the reason for my move up North!

I created Nurturing Families after realising that the couples and families I was teaching and supporting during pregnancy with my antenatal hypnobirthing classes; needed just as much support, information, guidance and empowerment in the postnatal period as they did in pregnancy.
Nurturing Families has been developed through a natural organic progression, providing support during pregnancy and after the baby is born has been incredibly rewarding for me and invaluable for the couples I have spent time with.

Wishing you best wishes for your pregnancy, birth and beyond
I live in Sheffield and am a Mum of three. Before I came to hypnobirthing I spent 15 years working for the emergency services. My third child was my first hypnobirth and the difference between that and my previous births was astounding. I can say first hand that hypnobirthing absolutely works! So much so that it inspired me to become a KG hypnobirthing qualified teacher and help other women have the same experience. A big focus for me is educating Mums to be (and their partners) about their birth choices in order for them to make informed decisions about the birth they want. Hand in hand with this I focus on how to put these choices across to care providers so they can work with parents to achieve their wishes. I am open to everyone’s different ideas and needs. Whatever sort of birth you would like I would like to help you achieve it. For more info please see my website calminthebirthroom.weebly.com
When you are considering Hypnobirthing, you want to know whether it can help you and if you can trust it and if it is a good investment. More and more women and their partners all answer "Yes" to these questions.
I knew when I was very young that I wanted to teach parents how to care for their babies, and so teaching Hypnobirthing was a natural step for me. My nursing and complementary work and particularly Hypnotherapy, ensures I offer a quality service to you and your partner to support you for an empowering birth experience.
The benefits are that I work with you on any fears with a new positive mindset, to trust yourself, and learn so much about your health in pregnancy, your body, labour, birth, care of your baby, and how to become confident Parents with a calmer baby. On this course you will also learn how to get the best support from your partner and caregivers. Wouldn't it be great to have lovely memories of the birth of your baby that you will remember forever?
I remember what it felt like to be a new Parent, and so many Parents want additional support and advice, either during pregnancy or once baby arrives. Being prepared by receiving supportive antenatal advice and care and feeling spoiled can be such a great start.
I offer an additional VIP package ranging from 2-4 hours which can include consultation via email, or a choice of therapies, or a successful breast-feeding package. Please contact me for information.
I offer Maternity Reflexology during pregnancy, and a special session when you have reached the anticipated date of baby's birth to help you relax and prepare for labour and birth.
As well as being a qualified nurse and midwife, having worked as a midwife for over 30 years, I am a mother of 3 grown up children. I worked as a community midwife for 18 years and a caseload midwife for 10 of these caring for my families throughout their pregnancy, birth at home or in hospital and postnatally up until their baby was a month old. a high number of the women on our caseload had their baby at home, but we also cared for women with more complex pregnancies in hospital. Over the past 15 years I have qualified in a number of complementary therapies which I have incorporated into my midwifery practice, such as Massage, Shiatsu, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and teaching baby massage. I offered a course of baby massage to the team's families which I really enjoyed, especially as I could see the babies grow and develop after 1 month of age! I also worked as a complementary therapy midwife with a colleague at the Jessop Wing hospital, one day a week for 7 years.
I now work on labour ward and love caring for famiies having their babies and feel passionate in promoting a positive birth experience. Each birth is unique and I feel priveledged to be with the family at this special time.
I have now completed the Hypnobirthing course and feel excited about teaching this to couples.
Mama of 2 boys, from Yorkshire, now living in Essex. My life goal is empowerment of women and their families In birth and early motherhood. No matter how you look at it, it's a super challenging time, it takes a village that most of us don't have. I'm building one for my mamas (*no actual bricks*).
I'm a qualified Hypnotherapist as well as a KG Hypnobirthing teacher. I am also a very proud mum of twins (teenagers now!). The powers of the mind has always fascinated me as well as birth! Coming across Hypnobirthing was a magical combination of both and the more I learnt, the more I wanted to learn. I am now in a position to pass this knowledge onto you. The world of midwifery is always changing and keeping myself updated and on top of the latest news is always my aim, so you can rest assured you will be receiving the best and latest information.
